Wink Access Denied - autoprotect

If in your Symantec products, Norton - Symantec Antivirus - Endpoint Protection you get the message:

Access Denied means that the Auto-Protect prevented a file from being created.

So please don't be scared, it doesn't mean that the scan engine couldn't read/write the infected file.

It's confirmed from Symantec's KB: Interpreting the log files for Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition and Symantec Endpoint Protection

Default Access Denied autoprotect

This also might be the solution for the access denied message, it was for me.

Check this location in the registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlLS A

The DWord RestrictAnonymous should be set to 0 to allow access to your shared folders. If it is set to 1, it will cause the access denied message to come up.
