It’s as easy as unplugging the keyboard and plugging it back into the computer! Everybody you don’t trust can do it to you, just pay attention, especially if you live in a dormitory and many people can access to your room and have physical access to your computer.
Two researchers from the Polytechnic of Lausanne have shown how to remotely capture (even in the room next door) keystrokes on a keyboard connected to a PC with a USB cable or PS2.
