Here I would like to tell you how to add country – specific characters to a foreigner keyboard / operating system.
In this example we have the following:
- A Windows XP computer with English keyboard
And we will make it support Polish characters!
Let’s START
1) Click on Start
2) Click on Run
3) Type intl.cpl and click OK
A similar window will appear:
4) Click on Languages (the tab in the middle)
A similar window will appear:
5) Click on Details (the only Button on this window)
A similar window will appear:
In this window the language in use by your keyboard will appear. In this example the main language is English.
What does it mean? Having English here will allow you to use only the English characters and signs, according to the English keyboard layout (how the English keyboard and key position will look like in English keyboards… expecially United States Keyboard in this case).
Let’s add now the support to Polish language
6) In this windows click on “Add”
A similar window will appear:
Here you will chose your language. In this example we choose Polish language and click OK.
You will see now a similar window:
As you can see now you have two input languages set, English and Polish. You can click OK in this window and close it.
By default a little square showing you the current language should appear near the clock. Something similar to the next one below:
Now when you have to write in a language or in another you can change the input language by clicking alt+left shift, or by manually chosing the language you want from the taskbar. This is the default, but different Operating Systems can have different default settings.
If you need specific help for your case, you can write to us on www.security-exchange.net we will give you the support you need
