Attention when updating – Fake Microsoft Security Alert – KB910721

Last days a malware is spreading on the net. Emails are being sent around the world saying that a Microsoft Aler has been released, but it is a fake. The surprising English language and style of this email is really good and it really seems to be an original official Microsoft Security Alert with a good update fix.

In this message an update for Microsoft Outlook / Outlook Express has been released. It also adds that this update is critical and provides you with the latest version of the Microsoft Outlook / Outlook Express and offers the highest levels of stability and security.

All of this is FAKE.
This is the original text of the email:

The good news is that the best antivirus that are up-to-date should protect our computers from this malware. Some of the best protections are Cisco IronPort and Sophos. If they are updated, they can protect against this kind of attacks.

Sophos will detect this trojan as Troj/Spy-CU and describes it as a backdoor banking Trojan which allows a remote user to access and steal sensitive data and provides an intruder with remote access to the compromised system.

Thanks for your attention
